Biggs Facing Federal Suit for Alleged Hemp Farming Warnings

Equitable Organic Ventures (EOV) wants Oklahoma Farm Service Agency Director Scott Biggs, a former legislator, to stop allegedly telling farms they could lose federal loans and be charged with a crime, if they grow hemp. The Oklahoman’s Nuria Martinez-Keel writes the firm was trying to contract with Oklahoma farmers to grow hemp, but emails from Biggs led to many backing away from the deal. EOV has filed suit against Biggs in federal court.
