Stitt Reviews First 100 Days in Office

Governor Kevin Stitt has crossed the first 100 day mark of his administration. His office released a report Monday showing what the newly minted governor has accomplished so far.

The First 100 Days in Office Accomplishments report outlines efforts to increase agency accountability, a request for performance audits of nine agencies, pulling back on a supplemental request by the Office of Management and Enterprise Services, creating a budget with the total state spend, and working to modernize state services in the digital age.

In his introduction letter for the report, Stitt notes that government and business do not perform at the same pace.

“Some people warned me that I would get frustrated at the slow pace of government. They were right; I have. But I have not let it slow me down, because you demanded a change in how we do business at the State Capitol. As your governor, I am committed to delivering a customer-centered government that is efficient and focused on delivering measurable outcomes with your hard-earned tax dollars,” wrote Stitt.

I failed to find anything on this list of accomplishments that is making our lives better: NO education reform, NO increase in my teacher’s retirement or larger contribution to my health insurance from the state, NO lowering of our property taxes or cost of tags. OUR rural road is still unpaved. We still don’t have a rural fire department. NOT real impressed with this new governor.
