President Trump is proposing a plan to put merit-based reforms into the U.S. immigration system. The focus would be on education and job skills, not family relationships.
The plan has Congressman Tom Cole’s support.
“I applaud President Trump for continuing to propose real solutions to deal with America’s broken immigration system and preserve America’s great standing and leadership in the world,” said Cole. “The president is right that reforms are desperately needed to address the humanitarian and security crisis at the southern border. But he is also wise to recognize that our system for accepting new residents doesn’t always put America first.
