Paul Backers Claim 4th District Sweep, He Plots Backup Strategy

Daily Paul

Toady (sic), Ron Paul swept the entire Oklahoma District 4 convention! The Ron Paul R3volution continues in the Sooner State.

There was nothing the establishment could do to stop the surgical precision of the Ron Paul movement, as we swept the entire District 4 convention. Shock and awe was the order of the day and Ron Paul now dominates Oklahoma. The spirit of Ron Paul controls Oklahoma District 3, 4 and 5 and our delegates are going to Tampa. Next, we will fight to fill the slate in the upcoming election of the at-large Oklahoma delegates and see what we can do about some rules.

When Ron Paul needs delegates, the Sooner State delivers.

Rep. Ron Paul says he’s in it to win it and the campaign boasts that it has a comprehensive strategy in place to ensure that happens.

But behind the scenes Campaign Manager Jesse Benton admits to ABC News that the team is plotting a back up strategy in case the congressman doesn’t pull in enough delegates to become the nominee.

If the campaign comes up short at the convention, Benton says the plan is to use all the delegates awarded to Paul as a bargaining chip to force the Republican Party to stick to its limited government platform.

Benton says this could include auditing the Federal Reserve and winding back several parts of the Patriot Act, including roving wire taps which he says were originally written with the intent of expiring.

“I think it would be wise for the Republican Party to allow them to sun set next time they come up for authorization,” said Benton, adding a good portion of the American people are with that.

The Headline should say: Oklahoma goes Blue; Obama wins 2012! It is really simple. People don’t like being told what to do, people do not like their voices not being herd. Why should we accept the Ron Paul Revolution? You will get what they want at the convention and no matter how much you believe in it and hope for it. WE WILL NOT GO VOTE. We will loose and stay home and pray and stock up on supplies. Good Luck

  2. David Brooke, 23 April, 2012

Gerald, the opposite is also true. Romney didn’t win this state and is not very well liked. In 2008, he lost to McCain, who lost to Obama. So you want to put the loser to the loser up against the winner. Obama has the advantage of being the incumbent.
Ron Paul has never voted for a tax increase.
Ron Paul has never voted against the 2nd amendment.
Ron Paul is for strict adherance to the Constitution.
Even Rush Limbaugh applauded his trillion dollar cut in spending.
In the last debate, he was asked to describe himself in one word. His answer was,”consistent.”
If you read up on what and who Ron Paul really is, you will be proud to cast your vote for such an unwaivering individual.

David, in 2008 Ron Paul lost to Romney, who lost to McCain, who lost to Obama. Your argument fails.

  4. Five Republican Primaries Could End GOP Race, 24 April, 2012

[…] about Ron Paul. Here in Oklahoma, it has been reported that Paul supporters have been able to win some of the district conventions. Is it possible that he will have enough delegates to win considerable support at the state […]

  5. Qadoshyah, 24 April, 2012

In polls Ron Paul is the only candidate who is able to beat Barack Obama. Mitt Romney is either below Obama or in a tie with him. That says something. If we truly want Obama out of the white house, we have to choose someone who will represent a wide range of people and someone who CAN pull the independant votes, the democrat votes, etc.

  6. Reading the data, 25 April, 2012

Qadoshyah, which polls? I’ve seen more polls where Romney is ahead or tied with Obama than where Paul is ahead or tied. That isn’t to say that there are many polls showing either are ahead.

Rasmussen is the latest with Romney ahead 49-44%. So far, I’ve not seen much evidence that Paul can pull the independent or democrat votes. In fact, in some polls, more people are undecided when the choices are Paul or Obama. That doesn’t suggest that Paul is the one who would win.

  7. Ron Paul Marches On Towards Tampa, 30 April, 2012

[…] the actual vote, supporters of Ron Paul were working hard to win delegates. It seems they may have succeeded in at least one district. It remains to be seen how it will turn out at the end and who will […]
