Stitt Tries to Kick Start Tribal Gaming Negotiations

Saying he would like to set aside the question of when the Tribal Gaming Compacts expire, Governor Kevin Stitt reached out to tribal leaders in hopes of beginning talks. The Tulsa World’s Barbara Hoberock writes Stitt sent a letter to tribal nation leaders asking them to come to the table to talk about the future of gaming in Oklahoma. The leadership of the Five Civilized Tribes and the Oklahoma Indian Gaming Association welcomed the warmer tone, but believe raising exclusivity fees is the wrong track.
