Working Group Examines Healthcare in Prison

The Legislative Healthcare Working Group met for the second time on Wednesday to focus on issues and costs surrounding health care within the Department of Corrections. NonDoc’s Tres Savage writes discussions ranged from stories of people violating their parole so they can have access to cancer treatments, the strain on the system when people are released from prison, but don’t have health care coverage and how much DOC is paying for inmate care.
