OK Supreme Court Decides Cities Can Regulate Medical Marijuana Businesses

A challenge by a Broken Arrow marijuana grower has been rejected by the Oklahoma Supreme Court saying that municipalities can regulate medical marijuana businesses, but there are limits. The Associated Press reports Austin Miller claimed Broken Arrow was exceeding its authority in 2018 when it adopted regulations including a $2,500 annual permit fee.

The Court ruled legislative amendments to the law allow municipalities to use standard planning and zoning procedures when it comes to regulating cannabis based businesses.
