MAPS 4 Vote for OKC

Voters in Oklahoma City will once again go to the polls on Tuesday to decide the fate of a slate of capital projects listed in the MAPS 4 plan. The measure renews the one-cent sales tax started with the first MAPS program vote in 1994.

This time voters are being asked to fund $978 million worth of projects with the tax lasting more than eight years, the longest since the first MAPS plan. MAPS stands for Metropolitan Area Projects.

There are 16 projects listed including more community based projects like a family justice center and mental health and addiction treatment centers. Improvements for Chesapeake Energy Arena, the Freedom Center and the Clara Luper Civil Rights Center, and building a multipurpose stadium are included.

The polls are open 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for registered voters in Oklahoma City.

To find out more about the projects follow this link to the City of Oklahoma City’s website.

It is important to be informed about MAPS 4, the largest tax in the history of Oklahoma. It is 16 projects that are disjointed, incomplete and if brought to an investor would get a thumbs down for lack of coherent and transparent planning. If you LOVE OKC and the hardworking citizens of this city who deserve to keep their money, VOTE NO to this plan.
