McCall Believes Gaming Compacts Automatically Renewed

House Speaker Charles McCall believes the automatic renewal trigger has been met for the state’s tribal gaming compacts to renew.

Tulsa World’s Barbara Hoberock writes McCall provided documents to current House members in December which indicate the compacts would auto-renew.

Governor Stitt and gaming tribes are at an impasse. Three tribes filed a federal lawsuit. Stitt wants an increase in exclusivity fees and believes the compacts expired on January 1, 2020, making Class III gaming illegal in Oklahoma.
