OK Supreme Court to Hear Challenges to Recreational Pot Initiative Petition

The Oklahoma State Supreme Court is set for next week to hear challenges to the initiative petition for State Question 807 which asks voters to legalize recreational adult use of marijuana.

Tulsa World’s Anna Codutti writes Tulsan Paul Tay and attorney Ron Durbin are making the challenge. Tay will have to speak to the Supreme Court via teleconference because he is serving a nine-month jail sentence. Durbin has several arguments as to why the initiative petition should not move forward including log-rolling and insufficient ballot title.
