Nation Watching Dispute Between Stitt, Gaming Tribes

The impasse over the gaming compacts between Governor Kevin Stitt and Oklahoma’s gaming tribes now have the eyes of the nation watching for the outcome.

New York Times’ Simon Romero and Graham Lee Brewer write the nearly united tribal nations against a governor which Cherokee Nation citizenship is piquing curiosity. Other states which have tribal compacts are watching how the situation is resolved.

Closer to home, members of the Cherokee Nation are even questioning the validity of Stitt’s citizenship.
