Zumwalt Says Progress Made, More Work Needed for Unemployment Claims Backlog

Oklahoma Employment Security Commission interim director Shelley Zumwalt provided an update Monday to the backlog of unemployment claims due to the COVID-19 pandemic response, saying around 29 percent had been processed.

Tulsa World’s Curtis Killman writes Zumwalt also noted changes to front line procedures to help the process and more work was needed to get payments to those who have been waiting weeks for unemployment assistance.
