Stitt’s Legal Fees in Tribal Gaming Disputes Cross $2 Million Mark

The lawsuits by tribal nations and legislative leaders against Governor Kevin Stitt’s tribal gaming actions is costing the state more than $2 million.

Tulsa World’s Barbara Hoberock writes the legal fees are related to the lawsuit filed by the tribes late last year against Stitt’s notion that the gaming compacts would expire, and the lawsuits by House Speaker Charles McCall and Senate President Pro Tem Greg Treat for signing gaming compacts not approved by the Legislature.

A spokesman for Stitt says the lawsuits were filed against him while he was protecting the state’s best interests.
