Johnson Announces Bid for Bice’s Senate Seat

In a bid to return to the Oklahoma Senate, Rob Johnson announced this week he will be running for the Senate District 22 seat being vacated by Congresswoman-elect Stephanie Bice. Johnson served in the Legislature in both Chambers. He believes a return to the Senate could benefit the residents and businesses of the district.

“After much prayer, thoughtful consideration, and discussion with my family, I feel called to run for office so that I can be an effective, conservative and pro-business voice for the people of Senate District 22”, Johnson said. “We are at a critical crossroads; I believe we need experienced, dedicated leaders on the frontlines working aggressively to rebuild our economy after COVID-19 damaged it. Now more than ever, we need trusted and proven leadership to guide our state back to prosperity.”

Johnson served in the Senate from 2010 to 2014. He had a previous stint in the House as well. He says his legislative track record should encourage voters to pick him in the Special Election.

“Liberals in Washington tell us they want to do away with oil and gas, defund the police, wage war on our values, and push a hardcore leftwing agenda all while they raise our taxes. I will stand up to that kind of radical nonsense,” said Johnson. “Too many people are out of work, our children are out of school, small businesses are hurting, and our seniors are suffering. We must work together to find creative solutions to these unprecedented challenges that we face.

President Trump’s national campaign Chief of Staff, Stephanie Alexander, praised Johnson’s decision to run. “When I began working for President Trump in 2015, Rob was one of the first to step up and help us win. From the first battle and to this day, he has always supported the President against the radical left agenda,” said Alexander, the highest-ranking Oklahoman in the 2020 presidential campaign.

The Special Primary Election is set for February 9, 2021. The Special General Election is scheduled for April 6.
