Oklahoma Will Receive Additional Federal Help for Winter Weather Recovery

Governor Kevin Stitt’s request for additional federal resources to help cities, counties and tribes recover from the severe winter weather earlier this month has been approved by President Biden.

Municipalities, counties and tribes in all 77 counties can request FEMA Public Assistance with their infrastructure repairs and other storm related costs.

Individual assistance will be coming to 16 counties for homeowners, renters, and business owners who suffered damage. Those counties are Canadian, Carter, Cherokee, Comanche, Cotton, Hughes, Jefferson, Le Flore, McIntosh, Oklahoma, Okmulgee, Osage, Pittsburg, Stephens, Tulsa and Wagoner counties.

Additional counties could be added to the list later.

Oklahomans should report their winter storm damages to damage.ok.gov if their county has not yet received approval.
