Lawmakers Won’t Reform Tourism Board Powers This Session

It appears the Legislature won’t be changing the advisory role the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Commission currently has over the Tourism Department. Reforms were being considered in light of alleged overcharging by Swadley’s on a contract to manage state park restaurants. Several investigations are underway.

The Oklahoman’s Carman Forman writes there are no immediate plans to reverse a 2018 law which moved oversight and control from the Commission to the executive director.

The regular session ends on Friday.
