Poll Looks at GOP Runoff Races

There are still quite a few undecided voters with less than a week until the August 23rd runoff elections in the five statewide Republican races. That’s the finding of an Amber Integrated poll taken earlier this month.

In the U.S. Senate nomination race for Senator Jim Inhofe’s unexpired term, Congressman Markwayne Mullin leads former Oklahoma House Speaker T.W. Shannon among likely Republican voters polled by Amber Integrated. Forty-nine percent of those voters indicated they were planning on voting or leaning toward voting for Mullin. Shannon brought in 31%. Twenty percent of those voters remain undecided.

In the race for State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Secretary of Education Ryan Walters has about 40% of the voters in his camp. Shawnee Superintendent Dr. April Grace has 26%. Voters who are undecided on this race are at 34% in this poll.

Oklahoma State Treasurer’s GOP nomination race is in a virtual tie between Representative Todd Russ and former Senator Clark Jolley. Russ has 28% to Jolley’s 27%. Forty-six percent of voters say they haven’t chosen who they will vote for the Treasurer’s nomination.

Senator Kim David has a lead over former Representative Todd Thomsen in the nomination race for Corporation Commissioner. David has 36% of those polled, Thomsen has 23% and 41% are undecided.

Labor Commissioner Leslie Osborn has the lead in that race against Representative Sean Roberts. Forty-two percent of those polled either plan or are leaning toward Osborn. Roberts polls at 21%. Thirty-six percent are undecided.

The Amber Integrated poll was conducted between August 11 to August 15 and includes a pool of 684 likely Republican voters. The poll has a margin of error of 3.8%.
