State Question 828 will not make the ballot because the proponents are withdrawing it. It would have asked voters if they wanted to make abortion a state constitutional right. They were waiting for approval from the Secretary of State’s office to begin the 90-day signature gathering period.
Tulsa World’s Barbara Hoberock writes the group issued a statement to the newspaper saying that it wanted to pause and build a coalition to increase the chance of getting the issue on the ballot for voters to decide.
