Vetoes Continue to Put AG, Governor at Odds

Governor Kevin Stitt’s veto pen has Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond pushing back. Stitt has vetoed more than two dozen bills so far. He has been terse about the lack of a vote on an income tax cut by the Legislature this session. Stitt also vetoed bills favored by Drummond.

Tulsa World’s Randy Krehbiel writes that Stitt’s veto messages give the impression that he wants to limit the AG’s power.

Drummond has responded to the vetoes saying Stitt “has clearly decided he no longer cares about serving the citizens of Oklahoma.”
