Cross Party Lines, Whetsel Mailer Urges

Sheriff John Whetsel, a Democrat facing a stiff Republican challenge from former deputy Darrell Sorrels, is out today with a mailing urging voters to “cross party lines to vote for the best person.”

The postcard mailer, aimed at registered Republicans, features photos of four GOP county official who are supporting Whetsel, and the photos of other prominent Republicans. The four officials are under fire from some Oklahoma County GOP officers for endorsing Whetsel and they have called for the party to censure the four.
