Well surprise surprise! A crooked Oklahoma politician doesn’t get any jail time just a lecture from the judge which I am sure will change his behavior and cause other politicians to reconsider before violating the public trust. No wonder the people are sick of politics and politicians.

This is outrageous. All of these politicians and public figures who came out in support of this guy should be ashamed of themselves. HE IS GUILTY OF FELONY BRIBERY WHILE IN OFFICE. At a minimum he should be in prison for a long time.

One of the core issues wrong with our country is corruption. When those with power – and those with friends in power – get different treatment before the law, then it diminishes societal respect for much more than just the law. All institutions are lessened, as governing ethics degrade. Until we start punishing those who do such things we will get more of the same.

Any word on the felony investigations into Whetsel by the OSBI and FBI, or is that being swept under the rug as well?

Steve, I’ve seen no evidence that such an investigation exists. Have I missed something?
