Statewide Virtual Charter School Board member Phyllis Shepherd was the only one to cast a “no” vote in this week’s decision to start the process to possibly terminate Epic Charter School’s contract. An audit was recently released which indicates Epic’s virtual school, blended learning school and management company spent more money on administrative costs than allowed.
Tulsa World’s Andrea Eger writes Shepherd is related to Epic Charter Schools co-founder David Chaney. Both deny a conflict of interest.
