Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt through the Republican Governors Association is joined by 19 other governors calling on the Biden Administration to stop blocking American energy production. The group is promoting an “all-of-the-above” energy strategy and announced a plan to “unleash American energy.”
Stitt is the policy chair for the Republican Governors Association. They announced their plan in Louisiana on Monday.
“As governors, we are extremely concerned with the impacts your energy policies are having on households across our country and call on you to pursue an all-of-the-above energy approach that will promote homegrown energy that benefits all Americans. Under your administration, Americans have paid over 40% more for gas every time they fill up. These policies are disproportionally impacting low-income Americans,” the letter to the Biden Administration read in part.
The governors call on the Biden administration to:
- End regulatory overreach that restricts domestic energy production;
- Increase onshore and offshore lease sales for all forms of energy production;
- Expedite approval of federal drilling permits;
- Remove the pause on liquified natural gas exports;
- Roll back burdensome EPA regulations and initiatives;
- Work with Congress to enact comprehensive permitting reform;
- Repeal unnecessary financial regulations;
- Expand critical mineral mining and production;
