Tuesday brings another election day for Oklahoma voters.
There are a handful of legislative runoff races. Tulsa will be voting for mayor. Oklahoma City has a hotel tax increase on the ballot. Several counties have proposition votes or other issues to decide.
House Appropriations and Budget Committee Chair Representative Kevin Wallace is in a runoff race against fellow Republican Jim Shaw. The winner will win the House District 32 seat. No Democrat, Independent, or Libertarian filed for the race in April.
Another Republican incumbent in a runoff for his seat is Representative Dean Davis. He’s being challenged by Gabe Woolley for House District 98. The winner of that race will move on to face Democrat Cathy Smythe in the November General Election.
Senator Blake “Cowboy” Stephens, the Senate District 3 incumbent is facing fellow Republican Julie McIntosh. The winner of that race will face Independent candidate Margaret Cook.
Senate District 15’s runoff for Republicans features Lisa Standridge and Robert C. Keyes. The victor will face Democrat Elizabeth Foreman in the November General Election.
In Senate District 33, Republicans Christi Gillespie and Shelley Gwartney are vying for the nod to face Democrat Bob Willis in the General Election.
The Senate District 47 runoff race features Republicans Kelly E. Hines and Jenny Schmitt. The winner will face Democrat Erin Brewer for the seat in November.
Republicans Mike Whaley and Jonathan Wilk are facing off for the House District 20 nomination. The winner will have Democrat Mitchell Jacob waiting for them in the General Election.
The Republicans in the House District 50 runoff are Stacy Jo Adams and Andrew Aldridge. That race decides who will represent the district in the House.
In House District 53, Republicans Jason Blair and Nick Pokorny are in the runoff which will result in the seat for the winner. No candidates from other parties filed for the race in April.
House District 60 has a runoff between Republicans looking to replace the outgoing seat holder, Representative Rhonda Baker. The race is between Mike Kelley and Ron Lynch. The winner of the race will join the 60th Oklahoma Legislature.
