The recorded video of State Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters outlining his newly created Department of Religious Freedom and Patriotism and saying a prayer for President-elect Donald Trump doesn’t have to be played for students in Oklahoma public schools or sent to their parents despite the instructions to school superintendents.
Tulsa World’s Lenzy Krehbiel-Burton writes a spokesman for the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office said that Walters does not have the authority to require schools to show the video.
