Bice: DOGE

By Congresswoman Stephanie Bice

For too long, the federal government has been a model of inefficiency and wastefulness, squandering hard-earned taxpayer dollars. Bureaucrats and unelected officials in Washington have failed to manage your money responsibly. Under the leadership of President Trump, we have been given a mandate by the people to reform our government, cut unnecessary spending, and run a more efficient and effective federal system.

Since my first term in Congress, my votes and decisions have always been guided by the best interests of Oklahomans. Our state has weathered its fair share of challenges, but we’ve shown time and again that we are a community that values perseverance, hard work, and fiscal responsibility. In Oklahoma, we balance our budget and ensure that every dollar spent is invested wisely for the benefit of our citizens. I brought these same values with me to Washington, where I’ve been fighting to ensure the federal government does the same.

Inspired by the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) created by President Trump, I introduced the DOGE Act with the goal of eliminating waste and improving collaboration across federal agencies. One area where we see significant inefficiency is the federal grant process. Right now, multiple agencies have their own separate systems for handling grants, leading to overlap in spending, confusion, and waste. This disjointed approach is outdated and costly. The DOGE Act will create a more streamlined and coordinated process, cutting waste, reducing redundancy, and saving taxpayers millions of dollars. This bill isn’t just a small step toward fixing inefficiency, it’s a significant leap forward in rethinking how our federal government operates. The DOGE Act aligns with broader efforts by leaders like Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, who are also committed to reducing wasteful spending and improving the performance of our government. Together, we will ensure that taxpayer money is spent where it’s needed most and not lost in bureaucratic red tape.

As we enter this new era of governance, with Republicans in full control of the House, Senate, and the Administration, we are uniquely positioned to make meaningful change. In the coming years, my GOP Colleagues and I will continue to push for a stronger, more efficient, and more accountable federal government. We will continue to fight for the values that matter to Oklahomans and all Americans: fiscal responsibility, effective governance, and a government that prioritizes the actual needs of its people. This is just the start.
