As the echoes of the 2024 election cycle fade, candidates are beginning to line up for elections in 2026. That includes State Auditor and Inspector Cindy Byrd who has registered a campaign for lieutenant governor.
Tulsa World’s Melissa Jacques writes Byrd told the newspaper in a statement that she filed the paperwork as a formality but continues to focus on her job as State Auditor.
Byrd said a campaign kickoff will be announced later.
