Governor Kevin Stitt has reappointed Tim Gatz to serve as Oklahoma Secretary of Transportation, returning him to a Cabinet-level role that requires Oklahoma Senate confirmation.
“This whole ordeal was nothing more than semantics,” Stitt said. “Gatz started with me in 2019 as my go-to for all transportation matters, and he has remained in that role ever since. I’m glad I can restore his proper title. It’s unfortunate that a politically motivated waste of time and taxpayer dollars tried to distract from his work on behalf of Oklahomans.”
Gatz has served as Executive Director of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation since 2019 and was reappointed to that position in 2024.
“The safety of the traveling public is at the forefront of everything we do at ODOT,” Gatz said. “I am honored for the opportunity to continue my service to Governor Stitt and all Oklahomans who rely on a safe and efficient transportation infrastructure.”
Gatz began his career with ODOT in 1990 as a drafting technician and joined the agency’s executive team in 2006.
