Jackson Announces Campaign for State House Seat in Lawton

Louis Jackson has announced he is running for the Oklahoma House of Representatives following the decision by Oklahoma Representative Rande Worthen not to seek reelection.

Jackson, who previously served as chief advisor at the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, said his campaign will focus on economic issues, public safety and stronger schools for Lawton families.

“Too often, Lawton families are treated like they’re last in line,” Jackson said. “I’m running to change that, to fight for jobs, lower costs, safer streets, stronger schools, and conservative solutions that actually work. We need to put Lawton first and Oklahoma first.”

Jackson praised Worthen’s service to the district and his record in both law enforcement and the Legislature.

“Representative Worthen has served this district with honor and a conservative track record,” Jackson said. “As an assistant prosecutor, he made southwest Oklahoma safe. As a representative, he made Oklahoma safe.”

Jackson said his decision to run is rooted in his ties to the Lawton community.

“I grew up here, went to school here, and learned my values here,” Jackson said. “I’m running to fight for Lawton families, to help make life more affordable, keep our communities safe, and make sure our city isn’t ignored in Oklahoma City.”

During his time at the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, Jackson said he worked on efforts to reduce regulatory barriers and support affordable energy policies. He also previously served in senior roles in state government focused on legislative and public policy work.

A graduate of MacArthur High School, Jackson earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. Jackson said he plans to campaign on policies supporting energy development, public safety and conservative priorities as the race for the open House seat begins.
