Stitt Appoints Hilliary to OU Board of Regents

Governor Kevin Stitt has appointed Dustin Hilliary to the University of Oklahoma Board of Regents, pending confirmation by the Oklahoma Senate.

Hilliary currently serves on the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, where he was appointed by Stitt in 2022.

“Dustin Hilliary is one of Oklahoma’s most dynamic business leaders, and he brings an unwavering commitment to building the workforce our state needs to be a top 10 state,” Stitt said.

Hilliary is co-CEO of Hilliary Communications, a broadband and telecommunications company serving customers across Oklahoma, Texas and Iowa. Under his leadership, the company has expanded significantly, growing from a rural telephone provider into a major regional broadband company.

“Our flagship university must be a powerhouse for Oklahoma’s workforce, producing graduates who are ready to step into high-demand jobs across our state,” Hilliary said.

State leaders say the appointment aligns with a broader push to connect higher education with workforce needs.

“On State Regents, Dustin pushed for accountability, for better alignment with workforce needs, and for smart investments that deliver real value to students and taxpayers,” Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education Chancellor Sean Burrage said.

Hilliary’s appointment now moves to the Oklahoma Senate for consideration.
