President Donald Trump has endorsed T.W. Shannon in the race for Oklahoma lieutenant governor.
In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump announced his support for Shannon and cited his alignment with the America First agenda and past political experience.
Shannon previously served as Speaker of the Oklahoma House of Representatives and has held roles including National Chair of Black Voices for Trump and a position with the U.S. Department of Agriculture during the Trump administration.
In response, Shannon said he is honored to receive the endorsement and highlighted his support for Trump’s policy priorities.
“I’m deeply honored to have President Trump’s endorsement,” Shannon said. “I was proud to stand with him then, and I’ll continue that fight for Oklahoma as your next Lieutenant Governor.”
Shannon said his campaign will focus on economic growth, tax and regulatory policy, agriculture, border security, and law enforcement.
Trump’s endorsement comes as the lieutenant governor’s race begins to take shape ahead of the upcoming election cycle.
