Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin has endorsed T.W. Shannon in Oklahoma’s race for lieutenant governor.
Mullin, who previously represented Oklahoma’s 2nd Congressional District and later served in the U.S. Senate before joining President Donald Trump’s cabinet, praised Shannon’s conservative record and leadership.
“T.W. Shannon is a strong, America First patriot who stands for conservative values and pro-business policy,” Mullin said. “I am proud to vote for him for Lieutenant Governor, and I hope my fellow Oklahomans will join me.”
Shannon, a former Speaker of the Oklahoma House of Representatives, welcomed the endorsement and pointed to his longstanding relationship with Mullin.
“I am incredibly honored to have the endorsement of my friend Markwayne Mullin,” Shannon said. “I am extremely proud to have his support as I run for Lieutenant Governor.”
Shannon previously received an endorsement from President Donald Trump after entering the race. Trump said at the time that Shannon would work to grow the economy, reduce taxes and regulations, and promote American energy production.
In addition to endorsements from Trump and Mullin, Shannon’s campaign says he has also received support from several organizations, including Tulsa FirePAC and The Associated General Contractors of Oklahoma.
