The Petroleum Alliance of Oklahoma has endorsed Republican gubernatorial nominee Mike Mazzei, whose energy platform calls for reducing oil and gas regulations and eliminating state subsidies for competing energy sources.
“I am honored to have the support of The Petroleum Alliance of Oklahoma, their members and the oil and natural gas workers who produce the energy that powers our state,” Mazzei said.
“As governor, I will stand up for Oklahoma’s oil and natural gas industry and ensure that Oklahoma is the best place in America to produce energy, invest, build and hire.”
Mazzei’s plan calls for removing regulations he considers unnecessary and reviewing state tax breaks and incentive programs for other energy technologies. He said eliminating green-energy subsidies would be a priority when taking office.
His campaign pointed to his work in the Oklahoma Senate on legislation ending wind-energy incentives as an example of that approach.
