Lankford Aims to Root Out Unemployment Insurance, ARPA Fraud

As the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) wave continues in D.C., U.S. Senator James Lankford is introducing two bills aimed at taking on fraud and waste.

One bill removes a loophole from the Unemployment insurance law. That loophole allows fraudulent claims to continue to be paid if the state does not find evidence within two weeks.

The other bill extends the life of the program which investigates fraudulent claims on pandemic-era programs.

Lankford, along with U.S. Senator Joni Ernst, is a founding member of the U.S. Senate’s DOGE Caucus. These are the first two bills to be introduced by that group.

DOGE in the Trump Administration will be led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy.

Lankford appeared on Fox News’ Fox & Friends to announce the two bills on Tuesday.
