Merideth Declares Run for Insurance Commissioner

Insurance professional Chris Merideth is running for the open Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner seat in 2026. Merideth has nearly 25 years of experience in the insurance industry.

“Oklahomans are tired of skyrocketing premiums, confusing policies, and bureaucratic red tape,” Merideth said. “It’s time for an Insurance Commissioner who fights for working families—not the broken system. I am running to fight for honest insurance practices, cut burdensome regulations, and protect Oklahoma values.”

Merideth, who is running as a Republican, will focus on four key areas during the campaign. They are consumer protection without overreach, business-friendly reforms, lower costs and greater access, and opposing federal overreach.

“This campaign isn’t about politics—it’s about protecting families, empowering businesses, and restoring trust in a system that’s lost sight of who it serves,” Merideth added. “I’m running because I know what’s broken, and I know how to fix it.”

Current Insurance Commissioner Glen Mulready is term-limited after serving two terms.
