House Passes Norwood Bill Updating Oklahoma 211 Collaborative

The Oklahoma House of Representatives has approved legislation updating the governance structure of the Oklahoma 211 Collaborative, the statewide network that connects residents with community services.

Oklahoma Representative Kevin Norwood said House Bill 4095 clarifies that the Oklahoma 211 Collaborative oversees call centers that help connect Oklahomans with services such as food, housing, clothing, transportation, and medical assistance. The measure passed the House on an 84 to 4 vote.

“I am proud to champion this bill and see it pass the House,” Norwood said. “I appreciate my colleagues for their support and for recognizing the importance of 211 services. It is my goal to keep connecting Oklahomans with critical resources by ensuring that 211 can continue to serve our community.”

The legislation also reduces the collaborative’s governing board from 15 members to nine members and establishes staggered initial terms intended to help maintain continuity in leadership.

House Bill 4095 now moves to the Oklahoma Senate for consideration. Oklahoma Senator Jo Anna Dossett is the Senate author of the measure.
