Fugitive on Drummond’s Most Wanted List Convicted

An Oklahoma man who spent more than a decade on the run after failing to register as a sex offender has been convicted in federal court.

Anthony Lennon, formerly of Moore, was found guilty Friday after being added to Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond’s 10 Most Wanted list last July.

“Anthony Lennon evaded justice for too long, but now he is facing the consequences of his actions,” Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond said, crediting law enforcement and federal prosecutors for securing the conviction.

Lennon was originally convicted in 2008 on five counts of aggravated possession of child pornography. He disappeared in 2012 and remained a fugitive for 13 years before being captured in upstate New York last October, just months after being featured on the state’s most wanted list.

Authorities say Lennon had been living under the alias “Justin Phillips,” with his identity confirmed through fingerprint analysis.

He now faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 at sentencing.
