Republican former State Senator Mike Mazzei will be the next governor for the state of Oklahoma.
Mazzei defeated Democrat Oklahoma House Minority Leader Cindy Munson and three independents to take the governor’s mansion.
Mazzei loaned his campaign nearly $13 million dollars through the campaign which faced a large Republican field in the primary and Attorney General Genter Drummond in the August runoff for the nomination.
Mazzei took 52% of the vote compared to Munson’s 46%. The independents shared the remaining votes. (98% of precincts reporting).
Mazzei will be sworn into office in January.
