Mike McCarville
A defeated Tulsa Democrat has been found snooping in the Capitol office of the representative who defeated him, The McCarville Report has been told.
Dan Arthrell was defeated by Republican Rep. Katie Henke following an epic, nasty series of campaign battles in Tulsa’s House District 71. First, there was a special election won first by one, then the other and the contested recount results were tossed by a judge. Then, in November, Henke won, easily defeating Arthrell by more than 900 votes.
Wednesday morning, Henke staffers and others noticed Arthrell, a lobbyist, in her office area. He soon disappeared from view and then, the sources say, Rep. Mark McBride spotted Arthrell in Henke’s office taking photographs with his cell phone.
Arthrell exited the office and when confronted, denied taking photographs.
Meanwhile, one Henke staffer called the House sergeant at arms as the conversation between McBride, other staff members and Arthrell grew more heated in the hallway.
McBride left and soon returned with an Oklahoma Highway Patrol supervisor assigned to the Capitol, Captain Pete Norwood.
When last seen, TMR was told, Arthrell was being questioned by Norwood.
