Dr. Ervin Yen has announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination in Senate District 40.
With nearly 30 years of medical practice in Oklahoma City, Dr. Yen said he is a conservative opposed to Obamacare.
”President Obamas approach to health care is both frightening and inept,” Yen said.
“When I’m elected, I will do everything in my power to enact meaningful health policies that benefit Oklahomans, not the Obamacare bureaucrats who seem bent on forcing Americans into their version of Big Government health care.”
Yen seeks to replace Republican Senator Cliff Branan, who is term-limited.
Born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1954, Yen and his family immigrated to the
United States after the Communist takeover of China. He and his wife, Pam,
have been married for 27 years. They have five children and are
active members of Christ the King Catholic Church.
Yen is a past president of the Oklahoma Society of Anesthesiologists and past Chief of the
Anesthesiology section at Saint Anthony Hospital. He has served as a member of the University of Oklahoma Presidents Associates for 29 years.
