R.J. Harris, a Democratic candidate for the Oklahoma governor’s race, has announced he is officially ending his campaign.
Harris, 40, of Norman, who ran against U.S. Rep. Tom Cole, R-Moore, both as a Republican and an independent, also ran for the Libertarian Party’s presidential nomination in the 2012 election. He currently serves as a chief warrant officer 3 in the Oklahoma National Guard, where he has served for nearly 23 years.
Harris said after careful thought he has decided to instead endorse the campaign of Rep. Joe Dorman, D-Rush Springs, who formed an exploratory committee for the race on Dec. 17.
