The Republican candidate for House District 101 in eastern Oklahoma County cries foul against her Democratic opponent and is questioning who is paying for campaign materials. Republican Tess Teague believes Democrat Cheryl Hessman’s campaign materials violate ethics rules by not indicating who paid for the materials.
“If Hessman can’t comply with a simple ethics rule like this, then how can we possibly believe she has the knowledge or competence to handle complex issues at the Capitol like the state budget?” said Teague in a statement issued with photographs of campaign pamphlets and a sign.
Hessman said Teague should take a look at her own campaign materials.
“Tess Teague’s campaign materials lack the necessary messaging and do not meet the parameters set forth in state ethics rules. I did not say anything about this because it is new rule. I hate that she is going to run her campaign as such. It truly hurts her,” Hessman responded.
