Henke, Arthrell
Voters in Tulsa’s House District 71 elect a successor to Dan Sullivan in voting today and in Pawnee, Noble, Logan counties and most of Kingfisher County, voters will elect a senator to the District 20 seat, vacated when former Senator David Myers, R-Ponca City, died.
The special election in HD71 matches Republican Katie Henke and Democrat Dan Arthrell in what has been, by some accounts, a nasty campaign. Republicans claim Arthrell and his allies have circulated anonyous attacks on Henke.
The special election in SD20 features Republican Ann Griffin and Democrat Magnus Scott Sr.
Both special elections will be the only item on the ballot for the vast majority of voters in the districts. It could be a small turnout for a state race, some candidates fear.
