Lankford Appointed to Joint Budget Reform Committee

U.S. Senator James Lankford was appointed to the Joint Select Committee on Budget and Appropriations Process Reform by Senate Leader Mitch McConnell on Tuesday. He is joined by fellow Republican Senators Roy Blunt of Missouri, David Perdue of Georgia and Joni Ernst of Iowa.

Minority Leader Chuck Schumer picked Senators Michael Bennet of Colorado, Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island, Brian Schatz of Hawaii and Mazie Hirono of Hawaii.

House Speaker Paul Ryan’s Republican appointees are U.S. Representatives Steve Womack of Arkansas, Pete Sessions of Texas, Rob Woodall of Georgia and Jodey Arrington of Texas.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi selected U.S. Representatives Nita Lowey of New York, John Yarmuth of Kentucky, Lucille Roybal-Allard of California and Derek Kilmer of Washington.

The committee was created by the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018. It is mean to find a way forward in the budget process in which both parties can agree.
