Two prominent Republican women will enter the race to reclaim the Oklahoma Fifth Congressional District Seat. Oklahoma Senator Stephanie Bice and Oklahoma City businesswoman Terry Neese announced their intentions this week.
Bice was first elected to the Legislature in 2014. Her best known legislative work is modernizing Oklahoma’s liquor laws. She’s currently the Assistant Majority Floor Leader and Senate Finance Committee Chair.
“Washington is seized by gridlock and runaway spending and a Democratic House majority that has embraced socialist policies and big government solutions,” Bice said. “In Congress, I’ll do what I’ve done in Oklahoma, tackle big problems head-on and work to deliver conservative solutions that grow our economy for hard-working Oklahoma taxpayers.”
Neese founded the Terry Neese Personnel Services, the National Grassroots Network, the Institute for Economic Empowerment of Women and co-founded Women Impacting Public Policy. She helped women in Afghanistan become entrepreneurs after U.S. forces secured much of the war torn country.
“Like many of the hard-working residents of the 5th District, I am deeply concerned with the political infighting in Washington and the direction in which our country is moving,” said Neese. “I believe our district has a chance to get our nation back on track, but it will take sending a proven leader to Congress who has the private sector experience and conservative principles to stand up to Nancy Pelosi and pass policies that will unleash our economy, keep our nation secure, and protect future generations from crippling national debt.”
Both are looking to unseat Democrat Congresswoman Kendra Horn in 2020.
Ms. Neese is a nice women, and very competent….but…old news!! How many times is she going to run for something and lose? We need new blood!!!
