Oklahoma’s first Secretary of Native American Affairs, Lisa Billy, has stepped down from the position. NonDoc’s Tres Savage writes Billy’s resignation letter indicates that Governor Stitt’s handling of gaming compact negotiations with the tribes led to her leaving his cabinet.
Billy is a former Legislator and also sits on the Chickasaw Nation legislature.
