Stitt Reveals State Medicaid Audit Findings

Governor Kevin Stitt’s requested audit of the Oklahoma Health Care Authority reveals the agency could spend more time confirming eligibility. It also found less than one percent of total expenditures by the Medicaid management agency, $30 million, was paid on behalf of children who were not eligible for the program.

Tulsa World’s Randy Krehbiel writes State Auditor and Inspector Cindy Byrd added there was no evidence the state Medicaid system is being used by noncitizens.

Stitt requested the audit in March of last year as he began working on a plan to reform Medicaid.
