Merrick Officially Joins Oklahoma Senate

Jake Merrick took the oath of office on Wednesday to take his District 22 seat in the Oklahoma Senate. Merrick will serve the unexpired term left open by U.S. Representative Stephanie Bice’s election to Congress.

Merrick is an ordained minister and business owner.

“I’m so full of thanks and humbled to be elected to this position to serve, not only District 22, but the state of Oklahoma—so honored and humbled to be part of this group here of men and women I believe all of whom lead with integrity, lead with conviction.  I look forward to learning so much from you,” said Merrick.

The newly minted senator also thanked his supporters and friends.

“I know that I would not be here if it wasn’t for you, for your vote, for your support and most especially, for your prayers.  We give all glory to God.”

This is the first time this session that all 48 seats will be filled in the Senate.
