Bill Targeting “Critical Race Theory” Heads to Governor’s Desk

House Bill 1775 created a three hour discussion on Thursday with House members questioning and debating the notion of teaching Critical Race Theory in schools. The House passed the measure by a vote of 70 to 19.

Tulsa World’s Randy Krehbiel writes during the discussion and debate for the bill, Republicans contended that the color of someone’s skin should not automatically make them a racist or that their sex determines if they assault women. Democrats doubted that was a problem in educational settings, but instead the bill’s supporters were just trying to stifle conversations on issues with which they were uncomfortable discussing.

HB 1775 is now heading to Governor Stitt for his consideration.

Thank goodness! Oklahoma schools are getting woke enough as it is.

This may be in the nick of time. I detect woke curricula in some Oklahoma schools already.
