Congressman Tom Cole is calling for the U.S. House to save the Hyde Amendment. That is the agreement federal taxpayer dollars will not be used to fund abortions.
During a floor speech on Monday, Cole came to the defense of the Hyde Amendment, pointing out that a strong majority of Americans do not want tax money to be used for abortions.
He is supporting H.R. 18 which would make the Hyde Amendment permanent.
